Christmas Tour (Part Two)

Baby It's cold outside!!!!
I'm staying indoors (after a failed attempt to get to town in this hideous snow!) So as promised I can finish my Christmas house tour!

As I said in my previous post I had to move furniture into the hall to accommodate my huge tree I'm actually loving it and the beauty of it is that it provides me with another surface to adorn with Christmas pretties!!!

My Favourite decoration this year (it changes annually!) is a beautiful crystal basket filled with spare baubles. This basket was, very kindly, given to me by Victoria's family as a keepsake when their aunt Rene passed away, and as such, is very special to me.

I would love to, one day, own a house that has a hall big enough to house a full sized Christmas tree. Until then I have a smaller one to satisfy my obsession.

Oh and I just wanted to show you this little man! I love nutcrackers they always remind me of childhood visits to Christmas shops in Germany. I've decided that he needs a friend so will be on the lookout to start a little collection up!

The Green, red and white cozy theme gives way to a cooler, girly, pink theme as we head upstairs.

A White tree decorated with pink and gold (oh and tiny shoes and bags!)
Here are some of my favourite decorations!

Unfortunately I can't show you all of my house as we would need to add parts 3 and 4 to the tour (and I would need to upload far more pictures and they seem to be taking ages at the moment!)

I hope you enjoyed the tour!

Everyone take care in the snow!

Lots of Love

Christmas Tour (part one!)

It's Christmas! This means my house is full of pretties and festive Yankee Candle smells!

Any of you who saw my Haunted House post will not be surprised to learn that I love decorating My home for the Christmas period!
I try to put the decorations up as early as I can and leave them for as long as possible! (mainly because the thought of the clean up leaves me shaking with fear!)
I have loved looking at all of your decorations so I thought I would share some photos of my decked out house with you all! (I must apologise at the quality of the photos, I think I must have been shaking with excitement when I was taking them!)

Let's start with the tree!

My tree is so big I have had to move my bureau into the hall to accommodate it! I did consider buying a smaller tree but when I mentioned it to Victoria she was so horrified I quickly settled on re-arranging the furniture!
As you can see my colours are traditional red, green, white and gold oh and a bit of gingerbread thrown in! (it smells divine!)

I love to change the look of the room by using different coloured throws on the sofas, Halloween means black but at Christmas it's got to be red and green of course! I also pull out the seasonal cushions, which are so comfy I think I may want to keep them out!

A red tablecloth, poinsettia and garlands! I love the little red snowflake buckets for the Christmas sweeties!

More Christmas pretties!

And in the kitchen.......................

More fun Christmas colours!!! (I hope Santa likes the plate I got especially for him!)

I think I like the presents more when they are wrapped up!!! I will miss them when they're gone!!!!

That's all for today folks, join me on Monday for the rest of the tour!

Lots of Love

Balls!!!

Well Baubles anyway! I'm long overdue in posting about the beautiful beaded Christmas baubles that my friend Connie made for me. (I'm sorry about the picture quality, it really doesn't do them any justice!)

Aren't they gorgeous? They are so delicate and well made! I love them so much they are currently hanging from my craft room pin board (they may go back there after Christmas too!)
Connie also makes these fabulous baubles to sell for charity and is currently working on a rainbow Christmas project with her craft group. Pop over to see how she is getting on by visiting her at her blog!

Stocking Swap Reveal

What seems like an age ago now I signed up to take part in Beki's 'Stocking Swap'.
I received my fantastic package from Sarah at Dotty Daisies some time ago now and Sarah received hers last week so I can reveal both packages in one post!

First look at the fab gifts I received from the very talented Sarah!

WOW!

A beautiful handmade stocking, some lovely toiletries, some lush smelling Yankee Candle goodies, 2 of Sarah's amazing handmade brooches, a gorgeous felt and button, heart keyring, a much lusted after wreath decoration, a fab Christmas pudding decoration, some pretty badge magnets that spell out the word 'dream' and an equally pretty badge mirror.

Also Sarah added a gorgeous handmade card and a needle felting set so I could have a go myself!
I'm very much looking forward to trying this out, watch this space for the results!

I'm sure Sarah sent me everything I had admired on her blog! I love everything!
A big thank you to a fab partner!!!

Here's what I sent Sarah!

As you guys know by now I do tend to get carried away with these things! I included some craft supplies, some decorations and some pretty practical bits, and, great minds and all that, some Yankee goodies!!

I loved taking part in this swap, what a great idea! Big thanks to the fabulous Beki for organising it!

Weght Loss Wednesday - A Change is as Good as a Rest

Hi Ladies, Its that time again! Weight Loss Wednesday is hosted by Jennifer at Rosey Little things! (click on the button to link to Jennifer's blog for a list of participants)

This week, as you know, I have been poorly which gave me allot of time for reflection!
I have been struggling following the slimming world plan recently, while it is a brilliant diet it just doesn't fit in with my life as it is at the moment. I find it really hard to stick to the plan when going out and sometimes with my shift work I just can't plan for every eventuality!

I have decided that rather than struggle needlessly and feel like I am failing I would change tact and start to follow the Weight Watchers points plan that so many of my friends follow with great success.

I like the fact that the Weight Watchers plan will give me greater freedom to fit my eating plan in to my lifestyle, I have already been following the points plan for a couple of days and feel far happier that I can maintian this way of eating even when life throws me a curve ball!

I have my points calculator and a notebook to keep track of my eating and am armed with all of Victoria's hints and tips! I'm lucky that I have my buddy to share my successes (and blips!) with so will be weighing on a thursday (the same day as Victoria!)

Wish me luck!

Feeling allot better now and am back to work tomorrow morning!
I have loads to catch up on and will be round to visit you all soon xxx

Lots of Love
