The Kitchen Gym

When I found this little book I just knew I had to share it with you all!
The Kitchen Gym – Get Lean While You Clean by Anne Marie Millard is quite genius!
This book is so wittily written and well illustrated that at first I thought it was a joke but soon realised that, while light hearted, this could really work!

A 'no pain, max gain approach to housework and fitness'. Basically this book shows techniques to get the most out of the household chores we all do!

Result If we have to do ironing why not flatten out tummys at the same time?

I'm pl
anning a bit of a housework session over the weekend so I might try some out!

I'll let you know how I get on!

What's In My Handbag?

Last week I was tagged by the ever lovely Beki who wants me to reveal the contents of my handbag.
Oh dear! I’m well known for carting far too much stuff round with me, and have even been looking for an alternative (more comfortable and smaller!) bag in an attempt to curb this bad habit!

Victoria has told me I should empty it every night and re pack only what I need for the next day, I manage to clear it out about once a week so far!

So this is my everyday bag (I rarely swap around too much as I find that this goes with everything, and I’m far too lazy!)

And as for the contents? Ok here goes!

2 notebooks – The pink one is for general stuff, to do lists and reminders (it has an elastic thingy to keep it shut too which means I quite often place pieces of paper I don’t want to loose inside the front page. The blue spotty one is for blog ideas as they come to be so I don’t forget and notes to remind me of tags and awards.

Diary - The Louis Vuitton planner is fab for writing all my dates in, Victoria and I have a tradition buying each other the pages as part of our Christmas present every year!

Purse – This is Fossil and was a bargain in Marshalls (like TK MAXX but better for those of you that have never seen one!) in Florida. I think it was about $15.

Sat Nav – This is still in my bag from Valentines weekend! It’s a Garmin Nuvi and I love it because it takes the scare factor out of finding new places!

Passport – In a CK blue spotty cover, This and my driving licence are in my bag from when Victoria hired the van last week

Travel pass – In a CK red star wallet. I love this wallet, before I had it I would regularly have to search my bag for my oyster card, now I see it straight away!

Weight Watchers Journal and calculator – I’m an all or nothing girl I carry these around to try to stay on track.

Keys

2 phones – one personal and one for work

Camera – since starting blogging I always have this with me

Book

A tube of Carmex

A Louis Vuitton Accessories pouch - bet you wish you could see what is in here!! Basically I use this to keep small stuff in one place, pens, lipsticks, cheque book, Various tablets, tissues, glasses cleaner, and WW sweeties. So that’s me! Now I have to you to show us what is in your handbag

This is such fun! I’m going to tag everyone. If you want to show me your bag (and it's contents!) take the tag and let me know you are doing it! Can't wait to have a nose!

Curiouser and Curiouser

Don't you just love Alice in Wonderland? So much to think about!

'If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?' Alice

Last night Victoria and I took a little time out to visit Selfidges to have a gander round their fabulous Alice In Wonderland themed 'wonder room'.
We weren't disappointed! Gorgeous vintage tea sets and cake stands, first edition books, Alice inspired jewelry, cosmetics and lots more!
The window displays were out of this world, with lots of pretties to gawp at!

As well as this feast for the eyes we also managed to catch up with our dear bloggy friend Teresa!
We had a lovely time, Just what we needed when we have all been so busy!

Fit For A Quean

The restaurant we ate in on our Valentine weekend in Leamington Spa is totally deserving of a post of it’s own!

Queans restaurant is quite simply the best place I have ever eaten! Forgive me if I gush for a while but I cannot recommend this little gem of a place highly enough!

Queans’ owner and chef, Laura Hamilton, has everything spot on. The hospitality, atmosphere and food are all perfection and I have a feeling that Laura and her restaurant are local celebrities as a result!

I could go on all day about every perfect detail of our meal and experience at Queans but you will be happy to know I’m not going to because I really wouldn’t do it justice!

What I will do is tell you that if you ever have the opportunity to eat here, do yourself a favour and go for it! (oh and have the steak!)

Whats The Point Of Hiring A Van If You Aren't Going To Fill It?.....

Today I drove one of these

Here

The reason? To help Victoria with her new home of course!
As we made our way round the shop (with an ever growing list!) Victoria joked 'Whats the point of having a van if we don't fill it?'
Little did I know, she really meant it!!!

We had a very productive day and the flat looked a lot different tonight than it did this morning!
I'm actually looking forward to the weekend when we get to do some more!
Click here to check out the fruits of our labour!

With all the excitement I have gotten well behind with my commenting, I'm making my way round to you all....slowly!

Weight Loss Wednesday - What's Your 'Thinspiration'?

It's Weight Loss Wednesday hosted by the lovely Jennifer over at Rosey Little Things.
Follow the link for a full list of participants.

Firstly I must apologise for my absence last week, as I'm sure you are all aware I was rather poorly!
This week I wanted to talk about the things that inspire me and keep me on track.
I'm loving The Biggest Loser right now! I have it on series link on Sky + and love to see how well all of the contestants are doing and get truly excited when they weigh in!
I'd love to go to the ranch, certainly no excuses there!
I think Jillian Michaels looks fab! (allegedly she is formerly overweight!)

I also have a picture of Kelly Brook up in my craft room, I think she has a lovely figure (she actually looks like a woman!)

With a 1LB loss this week it may be a little while before I look like this on the beach!
So what do you focus on to inspire you, not only to loose weight but to achieve your goals?

Lots of Love

Little Nicky!

On Sunday my friend, Kelly, celebrated her Son's christening.
I was honoured to be asked to make the cake and thought I would share some pictures with you.

I'm not a planner, I prefer to get some ideas and then let my projects 'evolve' so I don't stress myself out trying to create a figment of my imagination!
I'm really pleased how it turned out, and all reports state it tasted pretty good too!!!
