Weight Loss Wednesday - What's Your 'Thinspiration'?

It's Weight Loss Wednesday hosted by the lovely Jennifer over at Rosey Little Things.
Follow the link for a full list of participants.

Firstly I must apologise for my absence last week, as I'm sure you are all aware I was rather poorly!
This week I wanted to talk about the things that inspire me and keep me on track.
I'm loving The Biggest Loser right now! I have it on series link on Sky + and love to see how well all of the contestants are doing and get truly excited when they weigh in!
I'd love to go to the ranch, certainly no excuses there!
I think Jillian Michaels looks fab! (allegedly she is formerly overweight!)

I also have a picture of Kelly Brook up in my craft room, I think she has a lovely figure (she actually looks like a woman!)

With a 1LB loss this week it may be a little while before I look like this on the beach!
So what do you focus on to inspire you, not only to loose weight but to achieve your goals?

Lots of Love

Weight Loss Wednesday - A Little Late!

Please excuse me for being a whole day late for Weight Loss Wednesday, I must confess to having completely lost track of my days!
I hope I'm forgiven :)
Weight Loss Wednesday is hosted by Jennifer at Rosey Little Things

I did well again this week with a loss of 2lbs, with such a big loss last week I really didn't know what to expect. I suppose I just have to have faith that if I stick to my points allowance the weight will come off!

This week my goal is to work a little more activity into my scedule, no more excuses! I'm starting to panic as I promised to take part in a 6 mile run that takes place in May and I'm not sure I could run 1 at the moment!

I'm off to catch up with all the post google reader is telling me I have missed!

Lots of Love

Weight Loss Wednesday

Hi it's that time of the week again! Yes it's Weight Loss Wednesday hosted by Jennifer over at Rosey Little Things, pop over to see a full list of participants.

Well my dear friends I've had a fab week and am happy to report a 7lb loss!
It was a hard week both mentally and physically, there has been much trudging through snow and a lot of heavy housework. Food wise I have been great, sticking to the points plan (and loving it!)
One of the main obstacles I face is that I work shifts so I thought I would share a few of the changes I made this week which I think have helped!
  • Drink lots of water, I sometimes find if I am busy I can go a whole shift without drinking and not even notice! I don't drink tea of coffee (apart from a skinny latte with breakfast on early turn!) so get left out of the rounds of drinks that get made (albeit not very frequently!). So I now keep this at work, fill it at the beginning of my shift and challenge myself to drink 2 lots during my shift. I love crystal lights (brought home from trips to the states!) don't know what I will do when I run out! (I'll have to beg some of my American friends to feed the addiction!)
  • Planning ahead, I know that if I don't I will end up grabbing anything on the fly so this week I have made sure I have packed whatever food I need for the shift I am doing, be that breakfast, lunch or dinner and lots of snacks.
  • Living on my own and with my work commitments I find it easier and more economical to use individually wrapped, portioned foods, I really need to be able grab and go. Individual portions help me not to overeat. Where the food is fresh (e.g. Weight Watchers bagels) I separate the pack and freeze individually. I also find this help to avoid wasting anything (especially as these foods are more expensive that standard stuff!)
  • I work on a quality versus points basis, for example ready jacket potatoes with cheese from Tesco Healthy Eating range are 3.5 points. The Marks and Spencer equivalent is 4 points but nicer so I opt for those (this may change as I loose weight and points get tighter!)
  • I now keep Diet Coke for a treat.
So that's it for now, I'm off to see how the other losers got on this week!
Have any of you got some tips you think would help me? I'd love to know them!

Lots of Love

Weight Loss Wednesday 2010

Well after a break over the festive season I'm getting back on the health wagon (and looking forward to it!) and that, of course, means today is Weight Loss Wednesday hosted by Jennifer over at Rosey Little Things

Well I can safely say I have put on a bit over Christmas (mainly due to chocolate!)
I wasn't careful and worked all over the holidays (yes even Christmas day!)
But the new year is the best time to start, out with the old and in with the new!
I feel so much more positive this year, looking back on my previous posts I can see how I was not thinking ahead or setting goals, so today that is what I want to do.
  • I have an evening out planned for the 6th Feb, I have a new dress and shoes and want to look fab!
  • I am going away for the weekend the week after and would like to take some cute outfits with me!
  • I have booked a holiday to Egypt in May, Erm swimsuit needs no explanation!
  • I have agreed to do a 6 mile fun run in also May, Would like lots less of me to haul round!
I will be continuing with the Weight Watchers plan and as I am doing it under my own steam I am hoping you guys will be my group? Will you all help me?
It's all about Wednesdays!!!

Lots of Love

Weght Loss Wednesday - A Change is as Good as a Rest

Hi Ladies, Its that time again! Weight Loss Wednesday is hosted by Jennifer at Rosey Little things! (click on the button to link to Jennifer's blog for a list of participants)

This week, as you know, I have been poorly which gave me allot of time for reflection!
I have been struggling following the slimming world plan recently, while it is a brilliant diet it just doesn't fit in with my life as it is at the moment. I find it really hard to stick to the plan when going out and sometimes with my shift work I just can't plan for every eventuality!

I have decided that rather than struggle needlessly and feel like I am failing I would change tact and start to follow the Weight Watchers points plan that so many of my friends follow with great success.

I like the fact that the Weight Watchers plan will give me greater freedom to fit my eating plan in to my lifestyle, I have already been following the points plan for a couple of days and feel far happier that I can maintian this way of eating even when life throws me a curve ball!

I have my points calculator and a notebook to keep track of my eating and am armed with all of Victoria's hints and tips! I'm lucky that I have my buddy to share my successes (and blips!) with so will be weighing on a thursday (the same day as Victoria!)

Wish me luck!

Feeling allot better now and am back to work tomorrow morning!
I have loads to catch up on and will be round to visit you all soon xxx

Lots of Love

Sorry for the lateness (and shortness) of this post. Been feeling a bit under the weather and have only just managed to pull myself together!

So quickly! Lost 1lb (still feels like a million to go!)

I'm loving Victoria's posts each week and even though she is my friend and I have heard her advice many times, somehow seeing it in black and white makes it seem all the more sensible! Thank you Victoria!

I promise next week's post will be a little more inspiring!

Lots of Love

Weight Loss Wednesday

Hi, it's that time again! Weight Loss Wednesday hosted by Rosey Little Things

Unfortunately I had a gain this week, only 1 lb but a bit sad but not entirely unexpected!
My own fault entirely! Bad shift pattern and a total lack of organisation on my part meant I just didn't eat properly, also I spent the last 2 weekends sitting on my behind in the office!

As we all know we can let this type of thing get to us or we can use it to learn a lesson! I have learned my lesson and now have a Slimming World worthy, packed breakfast and lunch all ready in the fridge for tomorrow!
No more excuses, a little time and better planning should see I don't fall into this trap again!

On a positive note I have hair and nail appointments booked, and am off to do some 'cardio' in Bond Street tomorrow :)

All geared up for a better week and can't wait to see how you have all done!

Lots of Love

Weight Loss Wednesday (only just!)

I apologise at the lateness of this post but shift work and blogging don't always go hand in hand!
Sorry ladies!

Yes It's Weight Loss Wednesday hosted by Jennifer @ Rosey Little Things. Click on the button to link to Jennifer's blog where you will find a list of this weeks participants.

I'm glad to report I'm feeling much better this week, surprising how a week of looking after yourself can do that!

Unfortunately, due to my shift pattern, I can't get to my class this week so can't report my loss officially but a sneaky jump on my scales at home looks like 3 lb!

I lost 9lb the first week so I'm happy!

I will also measure myself today so I have another way to track my progress.

I'm so glad I joined up to WLW last week, all the support and visits to others blogs certainly helped to improve my mood!

I am also loving Victoria's posts, tips that improve well being and esteem during the weight loss process. Victoria is a close friend and has always told me all of these things anyway but somehow reading them makes me sit up and take notice! I have followed her recommendations to the letter so far and they have made a difference, and was even one step ahead this week, having decided that I need to return to my blonde locks! I went darker recently because I was feeling dull but don't feel like myself, so it's back to blonde for me! I must say I'm looking forward to what she comes up with next week!

Lots of Love

Weight Loss Wednesday

After reading Victoria and Rose's posts week by week I have finally bitten the bullet and joined in with 'Weight Loss Wednesday' at Rosey Little Things

I'm a classic yo yo dieter I'm either loosing weight or gaining, when I'm good I'm very very good but when I'm bad I'm a bloater!
I recently lost nearly 50lbs following a (quite frankly unpleasant) liquid diet. Desperation and depression lead me there and I have to say it felt great to have lost all that weight, but as we all know in our hearts (even when we are living off 4 packs of powder a day, eating no carbs, starving whatever your desperate head tells you will be the one that works!) I just couldn't maintain the hideous regime I was subjecting myself to and fell off the wagon!

And when I fall it is from a great height and I fall on my (now much bigger) behind!

I suppose I always felt bigger then the other girls, even though when I look back I actually wasn't!
I have quite literally manifested in myself what I thought I was (belief is a powerful thing!)
As I got older (and bigger!) I have always smiled for the camera, acted as though I was happy and developed a wicked sense of humour so even if I was fat and ugly at least I was funny!

See I could put on a good act!

I actually felt hideous, that purple dress was bought only 2 days before the event in desperation because I couldn't find anything I actually wanted to wear that would fit! I felt so uncomfortable!

When I got engaged I started to panic, I went with my Mum and Aunt to try dresses and found it an upsetting experience! All of the dresses are in tiny sizes and the some of the women that work in those places are evil! I was told 'I can get you something that will fit you' and 'well at least you have something to work towards now' there were many bitten lips and a few tears I can tell you!
That said I did find a brilliant shop where they put me at ease and I chose a beautiful gown.
I wasn't going to go through that again so I lost nearly 4 stones (on that famous liquid diet!) before I had to go to be measured!
This is me when I had probably starved down to my smallest in a tiny dress!

When summer came, and the wedding plans went, and I never got to wear the dress I lost control, and have managed (it is quite a feat I know!) to have put back at least half of what I lost, nothing fits and I feel hideous again! (god knows why we call it comfort eating when it make you feel so uncomfortable!)

So I'm back where I started really except this time I'm sadder because I had done so well and have let myself down, this time I avoid cameras because I hate what I see. But this time I am determined to do it properly, no drastic, desperate measures, just good old fashioned eat less, move more!

I have decided to follow the Slimming World plan and as luck would have it class is on a Wednesday, so it fits in perfectly with the blog schedule! Wasn't that nice of them?

So I will be back next week and I will have a loss to report!

Lots of Love
