I'll start at the very beginning........

My severe lack of posting over the last 7 weeks has meant I have neglected to share loads of exciting stuff!
I realise it would be a travesty not to share all with blogland but I'd rather not bore you (and myself!) telling you everything in one go!
I thought I would tell you about the run up to the wedding and honeymoon in bite sized chunks starting with the proposal!

When we decided to get married it wasn't really the most romantic event, finding out about our baby and planning the wedding so quickly meant that we kind of bypassed a proper proposal!
I'm not one for grand gestures (I find it really embarrassing!) but being pregnant and emotional I couldn't help but feel disappointed that he never got to actually ask me properly!
I shouldn't have worried, James had it covered!!
After a fabulous weekend away in Paris (don't worry I'll tell you all about it soon!) we went out for a lovely dinner. Half way through James took off the temporary ring I had been wearing to 'look at' I didn't even notice when he slipped a new one back on!
After he realised I hadn't caught on he said 'I don't like that ring, you better check that one out!'
I looked down and burst into tears! Well wouldn't you?

(excuse my lack of grooming, manicure required!)

After I stopped blubbing he asked 'well, will you then?'
as if I would say no!!!

I'd love to hear any of your proposal stories if you would like to share!!

Lots of Love

Oh MY GOODNESS!!! What a gorgeous ring! As always...I NEEEEEEEED a ring like that, ha ha!

Well Hun...are you really sure you want to hear about MY tales of proposal of marriage??? Well you did ask...

After being asked several times I eventually told my now EX that he should ask me again about Christmas time, if we're still together of course ha ha...we were, so we chose a ring and on Christmas day evening, after spending the day with our own families, I went over to his to collect him...on the way back to the car he very unromantically asked if I would like the ring to wear...???...I said he should ask me properly, so he faced me and asked me, just as fluffy white snowflakes started to fall around us, the ring glistening was placed on my finger, and he kissed me! A year later I gave birth to Finn, a year after that we had Jacob, not even a year after that...he left us. Boooo ha ha, but not to worry, I still have the ring, yay, and I have my gorgeous boys hee hee...I hope I made you laugh, I don't like to be a 'down in the dumps' xxx

OH asked me when I was 18, think he had too much to drink!! He gave me his grandmothers diamond ring which is now in the drawer beside my bed. We never got around to trying the knot....too lazy!!! After being together for 22 years we don'tn see the point. Very unromantic!!! x

Think I'm going to look forward to hearing everything that we've missed out on but you're going to have to warn us if there's a particular emotional bit. I can't be crying at work!

It was so clever how he proposed and love you didn't even realise... I still personally feel he should've embarrassed the hell out of you (for my own amusement of course!) ;o)

How lovely!! I'm sat here sobbing ... (hormones!!). What a gorgeous ring!

Mr Plum proposed to me in Paris ... it was snowing, and absolutely freezing ... we were walking across Pont Neuf and he kept stopping and fiddling around which made me cross as I was soooooooo cold and wanted to get back to the warm hotel. Next thing I know and he is proposing and all I can see between snow flakes is a sparkly ring! So exciting! That was back in 2003 and it has been bliss ever since then!

How are you and the baby? I've just been for my 38 week check up with the midwife ... I won't see her again until I am 40+2 to book me in for an induction - if I haven't already given birth!!!!!

Anyway, enough about me - I'm ready for the next installment of your lovely story!

oohh I do love a bit of bling :-) I must admit we didn't really have all that romantic gesture thing either. I did however do something a little romantic for my hubby as he lost his first wedding ring just months after our marriage. I got a new one made in secret and then popped it in a cracked on Christmas day not telling him until he pulled it and found it there. He has not been able to lose it or take it off since as it was made one size smaller :-)
