Having gestational diabetes doesn't mean I can't indulge my love of baking!
Luckily for me James' workmates are only too happy to assist in the eating part!
I'd been neglecting them lately so when they did overtime on Sunday I thought I'd make them a little treat!
James chose lemon cupcakes with lemon icing from the Primrose Bakery book (with added bling in the form of sugar sparkles and a touch of lime green glitter!).
I am ashamed to say that, despite having the book for a year, this is the first recipe I have tried!
According to my lovely 'testing panel' they were pretty good, but they need to try some other flavours to judge properly!!!

I think you could totally wear a hat! Or at least, make your child wear hats so you can live vicariously through them. :)

(Hope the gestational diabetes isn't making life too difficult for you, my sister had it and I know it can be a pain in the arse sometimes. Hurray for other people who are willing to eat your baked goods though!)
